Themes: teenage influence, the feeling of belonging, violence, need versus desire

Trigger Warning: animal cruelty, suicide, teenager's death

Many characters are featured in the novel with different situations but one true narrator rise from above: Kaylee who's the school outcast dealing with an emotionaly  absent mother, a physical absent father and sick brother. Thank god her best friend is there to support her... but turns out to be more than the used trope of ''best friend '' in thos stories.

Between deranged Ethan, superficious Gina and Hannah or emotionnaly abused Sydney, it's hard to not feel conflicting emotions towards them. The diversity of narrators and POVs offers a different take each time on the matter and allow us to witness different reactions( with yet almost the same result ensuing every time).

Shocking, disturbing and gripping with twists, mostly towards the end of the climax with diverse characters presenting relatable issues for the audience, the social commentary layed here offers interesting musings on our actions and the consequences behind it.

Beware! Spoilers:

* The book gave me various Scream vibes, with an affair being the reason behind they catalyst, caused by a mother.
